Musk xylol natural crystal
Musk xylene natural Crystallization
Light yellow crystal with a dry sweet musky-like animal aroma that lasts for a long time. It is mainly used as a fixative for cosmetic essences and soap flavors. At the same time, it is also used as a transdermal agent for many Chinese medicine ointment patches, which increases the epidermal absorption of the drug and has the effects of calming and analgesic.
Musk xylene is produced from meta-xylene (1,3-dimethylbenzene), by a Friedel–Crafts alkylation with tert-butyl chloride and aluminium chloride followed by nitration with fuming nitric acid or with a 70:30 mixture of nitric acid and sulfuric acid. The crude product is recrystallized from 95% ethnic.
